The importance of... Flossing.

Flossing means cleaning the teeth with either a strip of tape or interdental brushes, which not only cleans the teeth, but when done correctly, also effectively removes any food deposits lodged in between the teeth where a tooth brush cannot reach.”

As my dentist would always say, “you need to floss your teeth as well as brush them, it's just as important”, but how many of us actually do it? While brushing can also prevent gum disease, bad breathe and tooth decays, flossing is also believed to reduce incidences of heart disease, prevent gum disease and increase the longevity of your gums and all round health of your teeth. And just to give you an idea of what this all means:
• Over four-fifths of the population have at least one filling.
• 6 per cent of adults have no natural teeth.
• 19 per cent of adults have full or partial dentures.
• 31 per cent of adults have tooth decay.
• Three in every ten adults suffer from regular dental pain.

And just when you thought that flossing couldn't get better, dental floss has now also gone.. Organic. Yes you heard right, organic dental floss. So if your going to start flossing, why not use the very best; one that is made with organic ingredients?

From your biodegradable, flavoured and vegan (no bees or mineral wax), there are many different types and brands of organic dental floss to choose from. So don't get caught with needing dentures, especially at an early age, start getting that healthy and brilliant white smile now! Start flossing in organic style!
